TERM 30 - STARTING 5th SEPTEMBER 2023

We started term 30 with almost only Christmas songs. As usual the Immanuel Orchestra joined us again for our Zingmas concert at the Lancaster Bangkok Hotel. One of the highlights was singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" on the stairs in the lobby of the Lancaster again! This year we sold 200 tickets, our biggest concert ever. All proceeds went to the Immanuel Orchestra. As a community Choir we aim to give back to the community, so we donated funds to PAWS Bangkok (Pet Animal Welfare Society) and the TCDF (Thai Child Development Foundation) again. Thank you everybody for your continuous support!

 

TERM 29 - STARTING 24th JANUARY 2023 

We started term 29 on building up for our Summer Celebration 2023. The songs of our repertoire were this time chosen from artists who unfortunately passed away and of course other songs as well, like the Beatles Medley. As usual we had a blast! In the 10 years of Zing we have never had a wedding proposal, until this time! It was amazing. We raised a lot of money and were able to donate funds to the Immanuel Orchestra to support their Japan Tour 2023, but also to PAWS Bangkok (Pet Animal welfare Society), the TCDF (Thai Child Development Foundation) and last but not least for the support of Ukranian children. Thank you everybody for your generous donations!

TERM 28 - STARTING 6th SEPTEMBER 2022

We started term 28 (our 10th anniversary term) on 6 September. As always Simon prepared a great repertoire for us. We contacted a few former Musical Directors to ask them for their favourite songs and those songs were incorporated in our concert. As usual the Immanuel Orchestra joined us for our Christmas concert which always gives our concert an extra spark! Thanks to our audience (all proceeds of the ticket sales go to charity), we were able to donate funds to the Immanuel Orchestra, PAWS Bangkok (Pet Animal Welfare Society) and the TCDF (Thai Child Development Foundation). TERM 27 - STARTING 1st MARCH 2022

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, we finally started term 27 on 1 March 2022. We had to set the maximum of Zingers to 30 again. Nevertheless, it was a great term with people coming and going, but the Queen Summer Concert was great, again hosted by the Lancaster Hotel. Thanks to our generous audience, we raised money for the Immanuel Orchestra and PAWS again. 

 

TERM 26 - STARTING 26TH OCTOBER 2021

On 26 October we finally started with a new term with 50% Christmas songs and 50% other songs. Who wants to start caroling in October, right? We held our Christmas concert at the Lancaster Hotel for the first time and they were an excellent facilitator! Because of the overwhelming success of the contribution of the Immanuel Orchestra to our Spring Concert, the orchestra joined us again. They played some Christmas songs and we did some songs together. We want to thank our generous audience for their support. TERM 25 - STARTING 2nd FEBRUARY 2021

On 2 February we started Zinging again after a short lockdown at the beginning of this year. The Spring Concert was a great success again which was held at the AVANI On Nut again with around 140 guests. The performance of the Immanuel Orchestra was inspiring and amazing. I am sure the donations were even higher than usual which gave us the chance to support the Orchestra again and also donate to PAWS Bangkok (Pet Animal Welfare Society) and TCDF (Thai Child Development Foundation) again. TERM 24 - STARTING 25th AUGUST 2020

On 25 August we finally started our term with a limit of 30 members, so that we could ensure social distancing. It was a wonderful term! Our combined rain/Christmas concert was held at the AVANI On Nut on 8 December with 150 guests! Check out our You Tube Channel (Zing Choir Bangkok) for the recordings. As usual a lot of money was raised thanks to our guests and we were able to support a Wat in Lopburi where they support HIV patients, PAWS Bangkok (Pet Animal Welfare Society), TCDF (Thai Child Development Foundation) and as usual the Immanuel School of Music in Klong Toey. TERM 23 - STARTING 7th JANUARY 2020

On 7 January we started term 23 with a drink on Zing and Simon told us about the 2 planned concerts. 12 February will be our "Valentine's - She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" concert. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Zing had to stop rehearsing and organised some Zoom sessions. The concert  "When It Rains, It Pours" had to be cancelled. We decided to add the repertoire to our Christmas performance of December 2020.

TERM 22 - STARTING 3rd SEPTEMBER 2019

On 3 September we started term 22 with a drink on Zing and got to know our new musical director Simon Green.

We welcome new members until 15 October, simply because of the numbers. After that date new members can join again in January 2010. Get in touch by email through this website or through Facebook.

TERM 21 - STARTING 23rd APRIL 2019

Danielle's final term with Zing, before she heads back to the UK.

What a wonderful repertoire with: 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk, 'Perfect Day' by Lou Read, 'Under Pressure' by Queen and David Bowie, 'Shake it Out' by Florence and the Machine etc.

The location (British Embassy) was wonderful, the snacks were great (Steps with Theera) and the audience was enthusiastic!

Needless to say that Zing will miss Danielle badly, but the choir will be in the good hands of Simon Green after the summer break.

TERM 20 - STARTING 15th JANUARY 2019

Happy new year Zingers! Hope everyone had a lovely holiday.

What a fantastic number of Zingers we had for our Christmas concert! We certainly lifted the roof off the pub with all our good cheer. Thank you for bringing in such a brilliant audience too who have helped us raise a fantastic 15,810 Baht for our chosen charity, The Immanuel School of Music.

We have a special mix of songs in our programme this term, because we will be performing at the Thai Cultural Centre as part of the Variety Showcase with 'Seasons of Love' from the musical 'Rent', 'Joyful, Joyful' from the musical 'Sister Act' and we will be exploring our opera skills...

TERM 19 - STARTING 4th SEPTEMBER 2018

TERM 18 - STARTING 17th APRIL 2018

We've got an amazing line up ahead for the next term. We'll be paying tribute to the exceptional talent of Dolores O'Riordan with Linger, and also have some funk and soul numbers.

TERM 17 - STARTING 16th JANUARY 2018

We got our groove on to Fleetwood Mac, Seal and Adele, and managed to raise 7,900 Baht for the Immanuel Music School. Thanks to all our brilliant singers and everyone who came to sing along!

TERM 16 - STARTING 5th SEPTEMBER 2017

It’s been a mixture of serious soul and snowmen this term at Zing, ending with one of our best attended Christmas concerts ever. We enjoyed performing to such a packed audience, especially when we got everyone singing along to some well-loved Christmas carols. But most importantly, we raised an amazing 11,140 Baht for the Immanuel Music School. Thanks to everyone who sang in the choir, attended, and gave so generously.

TERM 15 - STARTING 18th APRIL 2017

AUTUMN TERM (13)

I think I speak on behalf of all Zing members when I say what a wonderful, Christmassy term it was, culminating in a lovely festive concert for family and friends. We were all so pleased to raise more money for our music charity. Thank you all for such a great effort and commitment to the choir and thank you to our great audience who joined in beautifully with a fun rendition of '12 days of Christmas'!

SUMMER TERM (12) 2016

What a wonderful, fun term we had, culminating in a very enjoyable Summer concert. Thank you to all the Zingers who came along every week to rehearse and perform in the concert and especially to our director, Danielle, who did a fantastic job leading us. We raised 5,580 Baht for our charity. We very much appreciated the support of all those who came along to listen to us on the night. It was fabulous to have some audience participation during 'Hey Jude'. What a brilliant atmosphere!

On Sunday June 19th our Musical Director Danielle visited The Immanuel Music School in Klong Toey to share the funds raised at Zing performances for the school’s ‘Music for Life’ project. Sunday afternoon is orchestra rehearsal and Danielle was treated to an impressive performance of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No 1. SPRING CONCERT - MARCH 22nd 2016

Although dressed in blue, we all felt the opposite of blue as we sang a mix of songs including pop songs, a song from a film soundtrack and an Austrian love song. Pop songs including two David Bowie songs in his memory. Thank you to our wonderful audience who gave us their support on the evening and donated money to our chosen charity, The Immanuel Music School.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2015

Our Christmas Concert was a heart-warming evening of songs and good cheer with a mixture of popular songs and carols! This time we even attempted our first song in Thai: 'Phorn Phi Mai' - a song written and composed by HM The King to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  It was well received by one and all.

We were blessed with a very supportive and appreciative audience as always. The generosity of all present helped us to collect over 12,000 Baht which will go to the Immanuel Music School located in Klong Toey, Bangkok.

This is a very worthy cause and closely linked to music which is in the heart of every Zing member! The school uses music for personal and social development in the rougher neighborhoods of the city.
